The images and videos of violence we’ve seen from the past several days are difficult to watch, but essential to witness. The fight for justice and truth should never be stopped or silenced.
In the NCGA, I was honored to have received North Carolina Nurses Association’s Legislator of the Year Award for my amendment requiring closer collaboration with medicine and nursing practices. Nurses are central to our health care delivery, and in Congress, I will continue to fight for our health care heroes.
Fantastic to see Golden LEAF Foundation making another $125 million available in loans for our NC businesses. We must continue to help our local economies, entrepreneurs and workers. https://www.wraltechwire.com/2020/05/04/golden-leaf-offers-another-125m-in-covid-19-disaster-loans-for-small-businesses

I’d like to thank three women here in North Carolina who are currently making history. Dr. Mandy Cohen, Secretary of NC Department of Health and Human Services; Dr. Betsey Cuervo Tilson, State Health Director and Chief Medical Officer for North Carolina Division of Public Health; and Dr. Kim McDonald, Wake County Medical Director. Thank you all for setting an example of outstanding public service during these difficult times. https://www.ncdhhs.gov https://publichealth.nc.gov
