The bill amends federal civil rights laws to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, education, housing, credit, jury service, public accommodations, and federal funding. While the outcome of the Senate impeachment trial is disappointing, I am proud of my colleagues who served as impeachment managers. They defended democracy and the constitution that governs it. I applaud the seven Republican Senators who put country above party, especially Senator Burr.
Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that the world needs science and science needs women. Women and girls play a critical role in the science community and their participation should be strengthened. We need more #WomenInScience to beat pandemics and solve the most challenging problems we face today.
