A year ago, President Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) into law. This monumental act is not only the largest-ever federal investment in climate action, but it also lowered rising health-care costs, including a cap on insulin prices and allowing Medicare to negotiate prescription drug prices.
In short, the IRA was a huge win for the environment, economy, and working families across the country. I was proud to help pass this historic legislation and implement its transformative measures here in Wake County, but our work is far from over.
With the GOP set on expanding their House majority and catering to extremists, our hard-earned progress is at stake. That’s why we must prepare now to take back the House next year. Democrats have proven that when we hold the majority, we deliver. The Inflation Reduction Act makes that clear.
Since I was elected to the House of Representatives, my top priority has been making a difference in the lives of North Carolinians—and we’re doing just that. But there’s more work ahead of us. I ran for office in the first place because of my strong faith in the American promise: That by working together, we can improve people’s lives.
