Biden Administration Moving Forward with Offshore Wind Leases

I am thrilled that the Biden administration is moving forward with an offshore wind lease sale in the Wilmington East Wind Energy Area. This has been a key priority of mine and I have been working with the administration on this issue for months. North Carolina is uniquely positioned to be a major player in […]

Strengthen the Judiciary’s Integrity

Every American is entitled to equal justice under law. To live up to that foundational promise, we must ensure that judges conduct themselves ethically and impartially. That is why I introduced bipartisan legislation to strengthen the judiciary’s integrity and restore trust in our nation’s courts.

Young Survival Coalition

Looking forward to the Congressional Softball Game tonight! I’m playing to honor my friend NC Senator Sydney Batch who has had breast cancer. The game has raised over $500k this year for the Young Survival Coalition to help women like Sydney.

That’s why I wrote a letter urging the NWSL and U.S. Soccer […]

Honoring Officer Hayworth

My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Officer Hayworth, his fellow officers, and the entire community. Officer Hayworth put his life on the line to protect our community and we are forever grateful for his service. To honor his legacy, my office is flying a flag over the Capitol.

Freedom to Vote Act

Americans across the country—including in North Carolina—continue to have their voting rights stripped by state legislatures. The right to vote is a cornerstone of American democracy and I’m extremely disappointed Senate Republicans filibustered the Freedom to Vote Act. The fight is not over. As a member of the House Judiciary Committee, I will continue to […]

Expand Protections for the LGBTQ Community

Yesterday, the Wake County Board of Comissioners voted unanimously to expand protections for the LGBTQ community through a new non-discrimination ordinance. I support our local leaders and their belief that no one should be discriminated against because of who they are.
