#MLKDay
Dr. King dedicated his life to making the world and our country a more just place. He inspired a nation to treat others how we would want to be treated ourselves. By embodying these qualities, we can help shape a better world for our children and generations to come. #MLKDay
Today I voted to impeach President Donald Trump.
I voted to impeach President Donald Trump for inciting an attack on the U.S. Capitol and endangering the security of the American people. President Trump has violated his constitutional oath to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States and is no longer fit to remain in office or hold elected office in […]
Phase 1b of vaccination on January 19th
As we continue to see a record number of COVID-19 cases, the Wake County Health Department announced that it will move into Phase 1b of vaccination on January 19th which will provide shots to all people 75 years and older. Wake County’s COVID-19 response team has worked to develop an easy and efficient experience where […]
Congratulations Mayor Roberson!
Congratulations to Mayor Roberson on the Wake County Democratic Party’s recommendation for his appointment to the NC House. Mayor Roberson has been a champion for Eastern Wake County, affordable housing and programs that support all of our citizens. I look forward to his voice and leadership being added to the NC House.
Congratulations Sydney Batch!
Congratulations to my friend Sydney Batch on the Wake County Democratic Party’s recommendation for her appointment to the NC Senate. Her commitment to the people of Wake County will make her an outstanding state Senator. I look forward to her continued leadership in building a North Carolina that works for all people.
I have co-sponsored articles of impeachment.
President Trump’s repeated lies about the integrity of our election process incited a violent mob to storm the U.S. Capitol and disrupt Congress’ constitutional duty to certify the Electoral College votes.
This was an attack on our democracy and an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. Because of President Trump’s actions, our country is no longer safe with him in a position of power.
Thank you for all of your messages of concern.
My staff and I are safe and remain focused on our work on behalf of the residents of NC’s second district and the American public. Yesterday was a hard day for our country. But it wasn’t hard to get back to work. I’m proud of Congress’ resilience and dedication to finishing the job of certifying […]
Yesterday’s Events
Yesterday was a dark day for our nation. The dangerous events at the United States Capitol, incited by hate and misinformation from the highest levels, were heartbreaking and wrong. They have no place in our political discourse.
The peaceful transition of power is a core tenet of our democracy and one that we, the people, have always respected.
Today’s dangerous events, incited by hate and misinformation from the highest levels, are heartbreaking and wrong. They have no place in our political discourse. A majority of Americans spoke with their votes in the 2020 election and their voices need to be heard — and certified. I strongly condemn today’s violence and call on all […]
We will all get through this as long as we care for each other.
Thank you North Carolina National Guard for being on the frontlines of our fight against #COVID. Your work will help us quickly and equitably distribute the #vaccine to all North Carolinians. Until everyone is vaccinated, we all have a responsibility to remain vigilant and do our part. Remember the 3 W’s: Wear a mask. Wash your hands. Watch your distance.
