George Floyd Justice in Policing Act
The House passed the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act, and I proudly voted for it. This is an important step in boosting law enforcement accountability and transparency, changing police practices and curbing racial profiling. It’s on all of us to help create a society that recognizes injustice and repairs it with humanity.

Starting today, all NC frontline workers are eligible to get vaccinated. Additionally, starting in three weeks people with underlying health conditions will be eligible to get vaccinated. I am thankful to all those working hard to get North Carolinians vaccinated as quickly as possible.

The #EqualityAct passed the House!
The bill amends federal civil rights laws to prohibit discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity in employment, education, housing, credit, jury service, public accommodations, and federal funding. I’m proud to be a cosponsor of the bill and support the rights of the LGBTQ community nationwide.
PayCheck Protection Program Assistance
There is a big need to support small business owners, especially those hit hardest by the pandemic. Small businesses can now apply for the next round of PayCheck Protection Program assistance that is focused on individual contractors and self-employed individuals. COVID-19 Vaccine Updates
Teachers, child care workers and other educational support staff can start signing up for COVID-19 vaccine. This is a critical step in having students and staff safely return to the classroom.

Churches in Garner and Fuquay Varina will be serving as vaccination sites this weekend. African American and Hispanic/Latinx seniors 65+ are encouraged to sign up. Please contact the church directly to register.
