A New Memorial to Gold Star Families
Behind every service member is a family who made their service possible. It was great to see Cary dedicate a new memorial to Gold Star families. While we may never be able to fill the void and pain of their loss, this is a small token of our profound gratitude.
NCGOP Convention
This weekend, the NCGOP holds their convention. The NCGOP agenda is just the Trump Agenda. And that’s one of extremism, political violence, and ripping away our rights. That’s what’s at stake in this election, and why it’s so crucial we defeat Donald Trump and other down ballot candidates in November.
Public Education System
Seventy years ago this month, the U.S. Supreme Court declared that segregated schools were unconstitutional. Today, NC Republicans are determined to take taxpayer money away from public schools and spend it on vouchers for unregulated private schools that favor the wealthy. We must elect leaders who believe in our public education system.

Teacher Appreciation Week
In Junior High School, Mrs. Pass instilled in me the values that make our country special: Individual freedom, equal opportunity, and personal liberty. She taught me that these values were part of our nation’s promise to make people’s lives better. And that promise became my life’s work.

Affordable Connectivity Program
More than 900,000 North Carolinians rely on the Affordable Connectivity Program to access affordable internet service. Despite broad support, Republican leadership continues to block funding for this essential program that bridges the digital divide.
