Today is the 60th anniversary of the Equal Pay Act—a landmark for women everywhere that prohibits salary discrimination based on gender.
But as women (particularly women of color) know, the Equal Pay Act isn’t enough.
Women still only make 82¢ on the dollar resulting in thousands of dollars in pay disparity every year, and it’s time to level the playing field.
Together we can close the loopholes in wage equity by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act and finish the work we started 60 years ago.
