NC Democrats Achieved Important Victories Statewide and in the Legislature

Although this election didn’t produce the results we wanted at the national level, NC Democrats achieved important victories statewide and in the legislature.

Here are some important victories that will allow us to stop Republican extremism and keep fighting for the people:

The over one million public school students in North Carolina deserve a Superintendent of Public Instruction who has spent time in schools and knows how to improve academics while keeping our students safe. Congrats Mo Green for NC.

Thrilled to see Rachel Hunt for North Carolina elected as the next Lieutenant Governor of our great state! I know you and Gov.-elect Stein will lead our state with grit and determination and help build a stronger North Carolina that protects everyone’s freedoms and supports every community.

For decades, Elaine Marshall has helped make North Carolina one of the best states to do business, and I’ve been honored to call her a role model and friend. I know you’ll keep working hard to see businesses thrive. Congratulations on being reelected as Secretary of State.

Congratulations, Jeff Jackson, on being elected the next Attorney General of North Carolina. In Congress, you were effective, tireless, and dedicated to improving the lives of North Carolinians. I know you’ll bring those qualities to the AG office.

North Carolinians also voted to end the legislature’s Republican supermajority, giving Gov.-elect Josh Stein the opportunity to veto the most harmful and extreme policies out of the legislature. We’re all feeling deflated right now, but these victories give me hope for the future.
