North Carolina’s 2nd District was redrawn significantly in last year’s court-ordered redistricting. This was welcome news in the wake of years of some of the most abhorrent gerrymandering in the entire nation. North Carolina’s residents deserve better and they deserve a voice in Congress fighting for them.
While we still have much more work to do to end biased gerrymandering and unconstitutional voter suppression, progress was made in early December of 2019.
If you live within the newly-drawn second congressional district, you will see Deborah Ross (D-NC02) on your ballot this November, as she won the Democratic primary in early March with 70 percent of the vote.
Our new district lines will go into effect officially for constituent services in January 2021 when the new Congress is sworn in.
