Today, for #WomensHistoryMonth, I’m highlighting the late Elizabeth Cofield. For decades, Cofield served as a professor and administrator at Shaw University, where she inspired thousands of students.
She went on to be the first African American and the first woman elected as a Wake County School Board member and Wake County Commissioner. Cofield’s legacy and commitment to education made Wake County a better place.
