The National Personnel Records Center is experiencing a backlog of veteran personnel file requests, which has worsened significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic. This backlog is preventing veterans from gaining access to essential resources, including education benefits, healthcare services, and COVID-19 vaccinations.
That’s why I am co-leading a bipartisan letter signed by 185 members of Congress urging the National Personnel Records Center to address this issue. The backlog is a disservice to our veterans and their families, they deserve better.
