President Trump’s repeated lies about the integrity of our election process incited a violent mob to storm the U.S. Capitol and disrupt Congress’ constitutional duty to certify the Electoral College votes.
This was an attack on our democracy and an attempt to prevent the peaceful transfer of power. Because of President Trump’s actions, our country is no longer safe with him in a position of power.
My staff and I are safe and remain focused on our work on behalf of the residents of NC’s second district and the American public.

It’s an understatement to say this year has been challenging. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and healthy, and that you’re able to take some time to relax as this year comes to an end.
As I reflect on this past year, I’m so incredibly grateful that you’ve stood by my side through it all. We flipped our district blue for the first time in a decade and forged a new path forward for our community and for our country. That’s no small feat. And without your support, it wouldn’t have been possible.
I am grateful to be entrusted with this position by my colleagues and am looking forward to putting my legal knowledge and experience to work in Congress.
