My mother was a member of the League of Women Voters during the height of the Women’s Rights Movement. She was frustrated by the lack of female representation in office at the local level so she got her friends to run and vote together. This impacted me greatly as a young girl and encouraged me to get involved and later run for public office. My mother has been a constant inspiration to me. Today, I send my love to all mothers who inspire their children everyday.
