Governor Cooper’s endorsement is a huge vote of confidence in our grassroots movement. Governor Cooper is a strong leader who has worked tirelessly to keep North Carolinians safe throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
This administration has left our public schools with no guidance and no funding for safely reopening. Instead of meeting with our public school teachers, students, and parents, @Mike_Pence is once again using #NC02 for a photo op to push for school privatization. We must get our schools the resources they need, whether it’s PPE to reopen safely or broadband access to fulfill the promise of a sound basic education for every child. Political photo ops cannot replace real leadership. NC’s schools and students deserve better.
With Congress back in session, we must demand federal funding for our schools, small businesses, and workers. We need real leadership in DC to help all North Carolina families get back on their feet through this pandemic. https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article244302347.html
238,000 North Carolinians have lost their health insurance due to #COVID-related job losses. This is unacceptable for our state—we need leaders who will expand access to affordable health care. No one should have to choose between receiving quality care and putting food on the table, especially during a global pandemic.
I attended the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s State of the City, County and Schools 2020 forum this morning to learn about Raleigh and Wake County’s approach to handling the coronavirus pandemic. The US House has passed a bill providing much-needed assistance to our schools and local governments through the HEROES Act. I urge the Senate to take up this important bill and help our communities.
