This President has failed at every turn.

This President has failed at every turn to put health and safety first. If Trump wants to come to Wake County, I suggest he talk to the people who are really hurting from this pandemic and not just pose for a photo-op.

We need real leadership to help all North Carolina families.

With Congress back in session, we must demand federal funding for our schools, small businesses, and workers. We need real leadership in DC to help all North Carolina families get back on their feet through this pandemic. https://www.newsobserver.com/news/business/article244302347.html

238,000 North Carolinians have lost health insurance.

238,000 North Carolinians have lost their health insurance due to #COVID-related job losses. This is unacceptable for our state—we need leaders who will expand access to affordable health care. No one should have to choose between receiving quality care and putting food on the table, especially during a global pandemic.

Support minority-owned businesses.

Congress needs to support our small businesses who have been impacted by #COVID19, especially our minority-owned who systematically face lending discrimination. A 41% decline in Black-owned businesses is devastating for our economy—we must do more.

An attack on the basic healthcare needs of women

Today’s #SCOTUS decision is an attack on the basic healthcare needs of women in universities and the workplace. As an attorney, I fought for health insurance companies to cover contraceptives, and I’ll always work to protect every woman’s health care needs.

Millions of people today, here in North Carolina and across the country, rely on these critical programs to protect their health and well-being. I will fight to protect Medicare and Medicaid, and ensure people have access […]

U.S. Veterans Administration

Today in 1930, the U.S. Veterans Administration was created to support and consolidate federal services to our veterans. Our veterans deserve to be seen and treated as the heroes they are, and I’ll continue to fight for them and fair funding for the VA in Congress.

USPS: Snow, rain, sleet—and even a pandemic.

The @USPS is an indispensable part of our lives. They work through snow, rain, sleet – and even a pandemic. Voters are using them to vote safely with mail-in ballots. Thank you for the essential service you provide and for keeping our country running. #NationalPostalWorkerDay

Legally issued work visas are NOT the reason for U.S. COVID-19 spread.

Let’s be clear: Legally issued work visas are NOT the reason for COVID-19 spread in the US; the problem sits squarely on the shoulders of the inadequate and, at times, harmful responses of the President. The last thing we need is to slow growth and hinder necessary workers. I’ll fight for common-sense solutions in Washington, […]
