In the NCGA, I was honored to have received North Carolina Nurses Association’s Legislator of the Year Award for my amendment requiring closer collaboration with medicine and nursing practices. Nurses are central to our health care delivery, and in Congress, I will continue to fight for our health care heroes.

I came to North Carolina for an education and what I gained was so much more. Here in Wake County, I found a community that cares about our region, our people and our future. Together, we’ve created one of the fastest growing areas in the country. But along with all
