In #COVID19 & while we celebrate #PrideMonth, the administration announced rollbacks on health care protections for the LGBTQ community. I stand with our LGBTQ community against discrimination & will continue fighting for accessible health care for all.
On #NationalGunViolenceAwarenessDay, we remember and continue to mourn lives lost to senseless gun violence, including students, movie theater-goers, shoppers, parishioners, children in their homes, and so many more. I stand with @MomsDemand and @GiffordsCourage to fight for common-sense federal gun-safety laws in Congress. Together, we can prevent future gun-related deaths. #WearOrange
The images and videos of violence we’ve seen from the past several days are difficult to watch, but essential to witness. The fight for justice and truth should never be stopped or silenced.
In the NCGA, I was honored to have received North Carolina Nurses Association’s Legislator of the Year Award for my amendment requiring closer collaboration with medicine and nursing practices. Nurses are central to our health care delivery, and in Congress, I will continue to fight for our health care heroes.
